Knox automotive business destroyed by fire

KNOX COUNTY - A Knox County automotive business was destroyed by fire on Tuesday.

According to the Knoxville Fire Department, the owner of Keisler Automotive at 3721 Schaad Road called 911 just after 11:30 a.m. He said he'd been welding on the frame of a vehicle when the fire started. He tried to put the fire out himself, but was unsuccessful.

Because the business was located in the county, the Karns Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the fire. When they saw the massive plume of smoke while they were enroute, they called and asked the Knoxville Fire Department for mutual aid.

When firefighters arrived, the business, located behind a home, was fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters were unable to save the building, which is believed to be a total loss.
No one was hurt.
